Nick Barlow is Newcastle painter. His new body of work titled "JOY OF BEING" revolves around the ordinary moments in which we fall in love with the world and those we share it with. This doesn’t just speak to the moments of intimacy we share with family and friends but the joy and intimacy found in looking; the joy found in home and the spaces we inhabit, the joy in objects, loaded with memory and sentiment. It’s about the joy in being present, of taking in a moment, of observing light, observing colour. Finding joy in the mundane.
