My art is based on the concept that chairs are often the vehicles, the participants and the passive audiences to life’s greatest events and our most profound personal moments. Seated, we form connections, be they idle or intimate, to the people and the places we encounter.

This artwork represents my memory of labouring with my first child, seated in a hospital shower – my slow breaths, the still room, and a simple white chair.
