My work explores my own internal symbolism and imagination and how they intersect with the outer world - everyday experiences, memory and stories and legends. A Good and Useful Facade shows an abstracted middle encapsulated by a border, the action happening within the shape, the negative space, shapes and lines around it acting as a visual foil or balance; a metaphor for inner and outer worlds. The shapes, marks and symbols in my work appear as I reflect on my inner world and experiences.
