ANKYLOSAURS PASSAGE

This artwork was created for a community zine themed around "spikes". Ankylosaurs are the spikiest things I could think of, and as a paleo-enthusiast I did my best to ensure all the elements were accurate to the time period. It was very helpful that late-Cretaceous plants such as cycads and conifers are spiky too! Dinosaurs have inspired me since I was a kid, but they are often associated with danger and action. I wanted to focus on a more serene depiction of these dinosaurs, especially juxtaposed against their armoured bodies, on their slow passage through the forest.
