Abbie Thompson is a local Newcastle artist. Since 2020 Thompson’s evolution as an independent artist began. The natural world, life’s simplicities and her intuitive relationship within herself and the world around her is what inspires her works.
Layers of earthy tones, thoughts, textures, organic and expressive mark making reflect her inspirations and emotive response to the natural world.
Thompson’s vision as an artist is to bring the viewer to a state of serenity and reflection bringing us to our present moment. Overall her works are a visual diary, a celebration and a continuation of making her mark in this transient life. Exposed, vulnerable, authentically imperfect. A narrative of the inner landscape.
‘Bare’ exposes thoughts, emotions and the intuitive relationship Abbie has within her works, nature and herself. To be vulnerable.
Natures tones, textures, curves and energy are what fuel Thompson’s works as an artist and therefore are infused into each landscape creating their own individual persona.
The creation of these personas are what fuel this collection of works reflecting the poetic relationship between land and mind. To be authentically imperfect.
