Lavinia Coluccio is an Italian Australian artist and florist, celebrated for merging floral design with abstract art. With a deep-rooted passion for nature, she is constantly inspired by the intricate forms, textures, shapes and colours of flowers. Her paintings often reflect this and explore the dialogue that sees artistry in the natural world and nature in the artistic realm.
In celebration of the beauty of nature, this exhibition highlights the textures, shapes, and colours that reflect the prominence of art in our natural world. By focusing on qualities often overlooked in nature, Lavinia's debut solo exhibition presents works that may conceal their practices and processes at first glance. She invites the audience to look deeper into the construction of her pieces—the foundations and layers involved in sourcing supplies. Through this exploration, we delve into how an idea is transformed through its physical framework and brought to life. Much like elements in nature, these layers are often unnoticed, leading us to appreciate only the final products for what they truly are.
