‘ICONS’ is a duo solo exhibition by Goya Torres and Claudia Rose. Mutually coming together powered by their deep commitment to creating art, pushing boundaries, and contributing to female artists representation. From exploring the relationship with the animal world to celebrating the female form, both artists present a bold body of work with their unapologetic voices through painting and drawing.
GOYA TORRES
Goya Torres practice moves towards blurring the separation line between fine arts and street-art. Her rich approach through colour, expressive strokes and powerful characters are a reflection of a robust style enriched by her Mexican heritage.
Goya has been involved in group exhibitions, live-painting events, street-art festivals, mural and public art projects in Australia, Mexico, USA, United Kingdom and Europe since 2012. Some of her artwork is now part of private collections in Sydney, Melbourne and Mexico.
CLAUDIA ROSE
Claudia Rose is a newcastle emerging contemporary artist. She began her practice in 2023. With a new body of work created in her studio located in Newcastles East End- Claudia Rose introduces works that are raw, playful, vivid and unapologetically liberating.
Born in the country, with a strong connection to earth. Claudia's family moved to the waters edge in Newcastle- bringing new unknowns and inspiration. Claudia has a vivacious energy for life that she takes pride in expressing through her art which invites one to step in, lean in and dare to be bold.
