Leith Hamilton holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art and has been maintaining his art practice for over a decade. Hamilton uses a variety of media that explores fragmented representational forms through structured compositions involving movement and texture. Since taking out the ‘emerging art’ prize at Cooks Hill Art Gallery, Leith has been refining his process and exhibiting locally on a regular basis. Currently he is exploring themes of life, growth, renewal, evolution, and the passage of time.
'SLOW DECAY' delves into the profound narratives of life, evolution, and the inevitable passage of time through intricately layered artworks. Fragments of figures and organic symbols, reminiscent of microorganisms, interweave to form a tapestry that mirrors the complexity of existence. Each piece embodies a microcosm of life’s origin, growth, and decay, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate interplay between birth and aging. The fragmented forms evoke the fragile yet resilient nature of living beings, while the organic motifs underscore the primordial connections that bind us to the earliest forms of life. This collection not only reflects the physicality of our biological roots but also metaphorically explores the continuous cycle of birth, growth, and renewal.
